Anodized Aluminium Workshop

Anodized Aluminium Workshop

Join us for this creative workshop and experiment with the unusual and exciting material that is anodized aluminium.

Aluminium is much easier to work with than other metals. It is easy to cut, bend and shape using the most basic of tools and better still, unlike other metals, aluminium can be coloured. From subtle shades to bright, luminous colours, this fascinating colouring process allows you to experiment with various decorative effects.

During the day, you will learn to transfer simple images to the metal and try different dye application techniques. You will make two different colourful pieces of jewellery; a cuff and either a pair of single-drop earrings or a pendant. Alternatively, instead of a cuff, you may prefer to make a bookmark or something of a similar size. All the materials to make your two pieces will be provided. Additional materials will also be available to purchase should you feel confident enough to make larger or more pieces.

There is no end to the possibilities which can be achieved with this versatile material - just bring your imagination!

Designed for beginners, this workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm and includes a pause for a ploughman-style lunch, which is provided.

Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
