Beachscape Resin Workshop
Join us for this fabulous workshop and make not one, not two, but three beautiful pieces of art during your day - each using the incredibly versatile medium that is resin.
Starting by first creating a small beach-themed coaster, the making of which will allow you to find your feet and your confidence, getting to grips with resin, pigment control, and a few basic techniques. You will then move on to create a larger 22cm circular piece, building on your skills, and introducing lace effects (to mimic ocean waves) and resin layering.
Using the resin techniques acquired during the morning, you will then progress to creating a large 20" x 10" masterpiece where you'll also learn how to embellish your work with realistic coastal textures, incorporating seashells, and other natural elements. This large masterpiece will be on an aluminium board, which will come complete with metal wall fixing for a professional finish.
During your day you will learn; the differences between resin types, the science behind resin lacing and resin layering, how to blend colours, as well as tips and tricks for achieving professional finishes – all in a super friendly and supportive environment.
The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm. All the materials to make your three works of art will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during your day. As with all our workshops, there will be pause for a ploughman-style lunch, which is also provided.
Please note: Your work will need to rest overnight and so will need collecting the following day. Alternatively, we can post your work to you for £6.55.
Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
