Stained Glass Workshop

Copper Foil Stained Glass Workshop

Join us for this colourful introduction to stained glass, using copper foil.

Working with coper foil is a brilliant alternative to the more traditional lead work, which takes months if not years to perfect!

During your time with us, your talented tutor will introduce you to all the techniques required to make two pieces of work to take home with you.

To introduce you to the techniques, and to build up your confidence, the first piece will be a small simple triangular shaped sun-catcher. Then, selecting from a variety of templates, the second piece you make will allow you to put your new skills into action!

You will learn how to safely cut glass to shape, how to grind the glass to create a smoother edge, how to apply copper foil, how to solder, and even how best to apply pattina.

The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and all the materials to make your two sun-catchers will be provided, as will a workshop apron for you to wear during the day. Due to the nature of the workshop, we recommend wearing suitable clothing and closed toe footwear. Please note, due to the materials used, this workshop is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant.

Let's create some beautiful stained glass sun-catchers!

Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
