Enjoy a fascinating day learning the traditional craft of Indian block printing.
Widely used throughout East Asia, block printing is the brilliant technique used for printing patterns and designs using carved wood blocks. Once mastered, the possibilities are endless!
During your time with us, you will look at traditional fabrics and photos of the block printing process. Following a demonstration, you will print onto different types of paper using the wide selection of hand carved blocks available. You will have the opportunity to experiment with borders, repeat patterns and colour.
After a pause for lunch, you will move onto printing a design on fabric, choosing from either a tea towel or tote bag to take home with you, along with your sheets of beautifully printed paper.
This workshop will be a relaxed and truly inspiring day. We will begin at 10.00am and conclude by 4.00pm. Everything you need will be provided, including an apron for you to wear during the workshop and a ploughman-style lunch, served partway through the day.
By the end of the day, you will be heading home to print everything!
Places on this workshop are limited to 8.
