Japanese Marbling and Wreath Making Workshop - Sunday 13th December 2020
Join us for this incredibly crafty day and explore not one but two fascinating crafts; Japanese marbling and wreath making.
The ancient art of Japanese marbling is also known as Suminagashi. It is the truly exciting process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colourful. Suminagashi originated in Japan as early as the 12th century.
During the first part of your day you will learn the magic of Suminagashi, producing a collection of marbled papers. These papers will then be used during the second part of your day to create a truly unique festive wreath, using simply yet effective folding and rolling techniques.
A wreath is never just a wreath when it has been crafted at a Three Little Pigs workshop! Whether you are interested in working with paper or exploring inks and new techniques, this workshop will inspire.
The day will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm and is designed to be a fun and relaxing day. The workshop is perfect for beginners. All materials and equipment will be provided, as will workshop aprons for you to wear during your day, and there will be a pause for lunch partway through the day, which is also provided.
